Yale Entrepreneurship Prizes

Yale has four $25,000 entrepreneurship prizes that share a single application. These prizes are designed to generate world-changing ideas from Yale students around health, education, environment, equality, sustainability and technology.

DEADLINE: Thurs., March 30, midnight

  • Thorne Prize for Social Innovation in Health or Education: This $25,000 cash prize is awarded by InnovateHealth Yale to the best student-led venture focused on social innovation in health or education.
  • Sabin Sustainable Venture Prize: The Sabin Prize, managed by the Yale Center for Business and the Environment, awards cash prizes totaling $25,000 to students and/or faculty with the best ideas for products, services, projects, or programs that advance a more sustainable way of life.
  • Miller Prize: The Miller Prize is a $25,000 entrepreneurship prize from the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute for a student venture with a tech or tech-enabled service startup.
  • Aetna Foundation Prize for Health Equity Innovation: The Aetna Foundation Prize for Health Equity Innovation is a $25,000 cash prize awarded by InnovateHealth Yale with the support of the Aetna Foundation to the best student-led venture focused on developing a technology solution to address a health disparity challenge.

Finalists for all four prizes will pitch before panels of expert judges at Startup Yale, a major entrepreneurship event held April 21 at Yale School of Management. Winners of three prizes–the Thorne, Sabin and Miller Prize–all receive automatic acceptance into the YEI Fellowship, an 8-week summer bootcamp for accelerating ventures at the Yale Entrepreneurial Institute that includes $15,000, mentorship, pitching oppotunities, education and breakfast & lunch.
